- How long have the lead teachers been here?
- Who covers breaks and absences?
- How are teachers coached and supported?
- How will I hear about my child’s day?
Safety and quality
Clear, calm answers are a good sign.
- What are the classroom ratios today?
- How do you handle allergies and medication?
- What happens after an injury or incident?
- Can I review the latest licensing or quality report?
What to quietly notice
Look for teachers at children’s eye level, materials children can reach, relaxed transitions and staff who greet children by name. Trust the pattern, not one perfect moment.
The right program should be able to explain not only what it does, but why that approach works for young children.
