Thanksgiving planning starts with a coverage calendar. District holiday care covers certain dates and eligible students, not every child or every day of the break.

The deadline and the dates

Rockwall ISD lists November 16 as the registration deadline for Holiday Plus Care on November 23–24. Capacity may be reached earlier, and the program depends on minimum enrollment. Registration is not a guarantee of an available place.

Who qualifies and what it costs

Care is for Rockwall ISD Pre-K4 through sixth-grade students who toilet independently and can function in a 1:25 ratio. It runs 7 AM–6 PM at Rochell Elementary, 401 E Ralph Hall Parkway. Cost is $50 per child per day. Lunch is not provided. There is no nurse onsite, and parents must be able to pick up within 30 minutes if needed. Review the district’s nonrefundable payment terms before booking.

Make a separate plan for younger siblings

District care does not cover infants or toddlers. Write down each child’s provider closure dates, the adult covering each day and a pickup backup. Ask your existing provider about available hours, meals, advance booking and payment terms. Do not assume another child’s school schedule applies to the youngest sibling.

Keep the backup realistic

Confirm a backup adult, emergency contacts, meals and transport. If you are working from home, distinguish actual childcare coverage from activities that still require your supervision. One reliable plan is more useful than a long list of outings.

Confirm coverage child by child, and register before November 16 if district care fits your family.
